There are ten further essentials required of candidates before we get to what is merely desirable: Experience of radio, television and/or online/interactive services, with responsibility for leading in the areas of editorial judgment and integrity. No wonder Helen Boaden thought it wasn't much of a job. You don't seem to have much clearly-defined financial responsibility, but you do get the joy of 'health and safety'.

A mild flutter on Rhodri Talfan Davies, running BBC Wales/Cymru from Bristol, would seem in order.
