Viceroy wanted

You have til 2nd September to apply to be the new Director of Nations and Regions for the BBC. Just drop a CV off to HR Director Valerie Hughes D'Aeth. She's clearly not expecting to be inundated, or involved in massive shortlisting - she plans to call you for interview just a week later, and you'll need a presentation ready.

Number 1 essential for candidates: Substantial leadership of a large complex organisation including successful line management and influencing skill. There are ten further essentials required of candidates before we get to what is merely desirable: Experience of radio, television and/or online/interactive services, with responsibility for leading in the areas of editorial judgment and integrity. No wonder Helen Boaden thought it wasn't much of a job. You don't seem to have much clearly-defined financial responsibility, but you do get the joy of 'health and safety'.

A mild flutter on Rhodri Talfan Davies, running BBC Wales/Cymru from Bristol, would seem in order.
